please excuse the dress

Hey everyone

thought i would take this opportunity to write my first entry of my trip. i know its been 2 and a half weeks and i'm very bad for not writing sooner.

right so here it goes

when i arrived i received a very warm welcome and we had flag break straight away and then an introductory session called living at KISC which was tour of the chalets and our accommodation. then we had an appro which is swiss for wine and cheese. the next few days were filled with training most of which i wont write about. one of the next days we had D-day which we were woken up very early we did crazy things like have breakfast on the platform at the train station and have to walk around the village looking for clues and taking photos. the day ended in a gondola ride up to a local lake and play on the Rödlebarne which is a dry toboggan run which was cool.

the next few days we filled with more training and the first of the Hike trainings which we hiked up to a local cheesery run by a very rotund lady who speaks no English at all. this hike was quite hard and i still think its the hardest one we do as it has lots of mountain steps which are not very good. the next lot of training sessions were geared towards guest services and getting us acquainted with the centres operation. the next hike we went on was called the 3 valleys which is my favourite so far it involved an overnight stay in a mountain hut rented and run by the centre. for one of the hikes with great views the cloud was a real spoiler.

after more training we graduated and got our pinks which was awesome. the next day we were told in which department (programme - activities etc, guest services - laundry, shop, house etc or campsite) i was hoping for programme and i got in :). im now training to be a hike guide which is a lot of responsibility this week is my 3rd week of training and its pretty intense monday we went up a mountain called Bunderspitz, Tuesday we went on the Cheesery peak traverse which was allot of up hill but was a great day, today is my day off and thursday friday i'm going on an overnight hike to the Lotchen pass where we went before forgot to mention that one we had practically no visability across the glacier.

i will write again soon.

first entry,

Two weeks today I will be in Switzerland and by this time I should have just arrived In Kandersteg. Before then I have to pack the rest of my stuff (did a rough pack today), but a few more bits and bobs, make a presentation on scouting in the UK and one on Me and get to the airport.
